Morning Minyan, Thursdays 8:00-9:00 a.m. at the BAJC (151 Greenleaf St)
People from all spiritual traditions, have long recognized the value of beginning one's day with prayer and/or meditation. It is also a well-documented fact that people derive tremendous benefit from praying (or meditating) on a regular basis in the company of others. Rabbi Tom has rallied BAJC members who used to participate in a morning minyan to begin meeting again with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. Others, who have their own solitary morning practices, have agreed to join the group on Thursday mornings.
The Temple will be open every Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. for informal stretching, yoga, meditation and chanting practices. A moderately-traditional Shacharit (morning prayer) service, using our siddur Mishkan Tefilah, will begin at 8:30 and will end by 9:00 a.m. to be followed by bagels, juice and a little schmoozing (yiddish for "socializing").
Certain prayers will be depend on the presence of a minyan (at least ten men and/or Jewish women, though everyone is welcome to join us), so please lend your support to our good efforts and intentions. We're sure you'll enjoy the spiritual energy and inspiration this group is likely to generate.
