Witness Reading a Success!!
BAJC produced a dramatic reading of local author Karen Hesse's Award-winning book, Witness. Based on true events, Witness tells the story of a small Vermont town in 1924 when the Ku Klux Klan moved in, told by the townspeople as they become involved in disturbing events. Characters include 12- and 6-year-old girls, a bootlegger, a preacher, and a newspaper editor.
More than 150 people joined us for this moving reading, followed by a book-signing by Ms. Hesse.
