Much of the work at BAJC is done through our committees. We encourage all members to consider joining a committee.

Standing Committees
Finance
Reviews the financial needs of the congregation, recommends investments,
and presents fiscal reports to the board and the congregation

Membership
Recruits, integrates, and retains members; works with other committees to make connections between members and create opportunities for involvement

Ritual
Works with the spiritual leader to support the congregational worship experience

Education
Recommends and/or sets the policy and reviews the activities of the school and oversees its operation

Cemetary
Oversees the administration of the cemetery

Social Action
Analyzes the public affairs issues relating to Judaism that face the community; educates, sensitizes, and recommends positions to the congregation; operates synagogue social action programs and educates the members about social issues

Coordinates worship service for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

Building & Grounds
Supervises the buildings, grounds, equipment maintenance and updates, as well as the use of the synagogue’s facilities. NOTE: Subcommittees include interior, garden and outdoor sacred space.

Organizes and catalogs the documents and memorabilia of the congregation

Chevrot Kaddisha

Sunshine
Provides mutual help and support networks to congregants facing illness and crises
